This New England Fall – Is It a Wash Out!

New England Fall Rainy ImageLet’s face it… the last week’s weather has been miserable for us humans. If you’re a Duck you couldn’t ask for better stuff… but for leaf peepers… forget it.

But the next week looks much better for fall foliage seekers.

The color in much of northern New England is reported as high to peak. In other areas of the region, the color change is low to moderate, which includes my home state of Massachusetts.

Leaf drop is low to moderate throughout the region. Although today many parts of the region saw high gusty winds – up to 40 mph in places – the recent rain will help the moist healthy leaves stay put.

So if your plans are to see the fall foliage this week or next weekend, or check out an apple orchard for some late pickings then you should be fine. Temperatures will be in the high 50′s and at the weekend push over into the low 60′s.

And if you’re looking for the ideal fall foliage ride then hop over to my best six fall foliage New England scenic drives page by clicking here.

Look for the final apple-picking article in a few days… and just in time for the weekend.

Have a great week,
