AMC has helped promote canoeing and kayaking in the area for many years. They hold some amazing camp for children and it is a wonderful learning experience for all.

Pinkham Notch has been a hub for hiking, climbing, snowshoeing and skiing on the Presidential Range of the White Mountains since the 1920s. At Joe Dodge Lodge located at the base of the Mount Washington, you'll enjoy comfortable trailside lodging in a spectacular setting.

Pinkham Notch is one of my favorites as well, although I've never stayed there, but used as a base for hiking.

Can't tell you the number of times I've been so thankful to see an AMC hut on the horizon when hiking through the white mountains. And readign through the 2009 guide seems like they are offering to outstanding trips. I like the sound of the Maine 100-mile wilderness trip.

Maybe it's my association with the Presidential Range but I always feel at home in Pinkham Notch and I can highly recommend it for a trip and stay.
