BBQ Tip #5:
Chef Long’s authentic Tare Sauce:
This is a spin on a classic Japanese Tare Sauce, traditionally used with Yakitori and Teppanyaki. The sauce can be used as a marinade, but is also great for basting skewers while cooking and can even serve as a dipping sauce.
After preparing the sauce, set aside half to use as a dipping sauce later without cross contaminating. Use this versatile sauce with Chicken thighs, Sea Bass, Sable Fish, Salmon, Skirt steak, Vegetable Kabobs. It is perfect any summer occasion.
Tare Sauce:
3/4 C. Mirin
1 C. Sake
1 C. Light Color Soy Sauce
3 T. Demerara Sugar
2 T. Sliced Scallions
1 T. Minced Ginger
Simply mix together.
