I live in New England and have strong opinions about places. I love the wilderness, hiking, lakes and hate cities. So Cliff wants my focus to be outdoors and out of the ordinary and talk straight. Suits me. Looking forward to some good feedback and comments on my posts. I'm also setting my own blog up at the moment which I'll let you know when it's ready for public consumption. See you soon, Yankee Traveler

New England Fall Foliage Video

fall foliage video title ImageAs the days shorten, something magical happens”, are the opening words on a just released video showcasing the New England Fall Foliage season.

The video is published by our friends at New England Vacations Guide who are based in Massachusetts, and is aimed at promoting the New England region, and especially the upcoming fall foliage season.

This has been a difficult year for the local tourist industry,” notes Cliff Calderwood, publisher of New England Vacations Guide web site.

I’ve personally seen many businesses that rely on tourism in the region shut their doors, and so we’ve increased promoting local businesses this year at our web site and blog by writing articles and features about these people and their businesses,” continues Cliff.

Everybody knows New England has the most spectacular of colorful fall foliage seasons and it’s a popular time to visit. The addition of this video to the library of autumn clips for vacation planning is welcome.

Unlike many state promotional videos which focus on only destinations in one state, this new video covers all six states of New England – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. It is a great short introduction to the many varied scenic spots to visit during the autumn, which for a country boy like me is a welcome relief from the hot summers – although maybe not this year.

You can watch the new video below without leaving this site by clicking play on the video below:

Consider voting for it and leaving a comment over at YouTube if you have an account there. The more people that vote and leave comments the more people will end up seeing it and the more will visit New England for a vacation or a fall trip. And after all that is the main aim of the video – to get people to visit to help the region’s economy and local businesses.

Thank heavens for cities…..if all of us folks living in urban areas moved out to the country, there would eventually be no lakes and trees, and think, if more people lived in cities, and used the outlying lands for hiking and other spiritual uses, our woods and streams would be more pristine…..

This is a very exciting video for me as I’m planning a foliage trip to New England this year and it makes it all come alive for me. Wonderful scenes and countryside. Oh – how I hope it will be a brilliant one this year. Thank you for putting this together.
