Boston Ballet “The Nutcracker” Kicks Off Another Season…

New England Christmas Nutcracker ImageFor U.S. shoppers Christmas starts in earnest the day after Thanksgiving, for everybody else in Boston, it begins with the first performance of TchaikovskyThe Nutcracker” by Boston Ballet.

A long time tradition and favorite of the Boston Christmas season, this ballet never fails to delight both adults and kids.

It’s become a staple in the Boston Ballet repertoire.

The Nutcracker is guaranteed to bring in the crowds and help fund the more innovative and artistically challenging calendar items for the remainder of their year.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of ballet or not, you just got to see this show.

And somehow, the ballet company manages to add a few twists and surprises each season so there’s always something new in the show – but still faithful to the wonderful traditional spirit of the story.

The Boston Ballet performs The Nutcracker at The Opera House in the downtown area off the Tremont side of Boston Common. The season starts on November 25th with performances through December 30th.

Matinee performances are on most Saturday and Sundays, with evening performances Thursday and Friday. The week before and after Christmas include Tuesday and Wednesday evening and some matinee performances.

Booking early is an absolute must for this perennial favorite. Ticket prices range from $25-$110 depending on date and performance.
