This Weekend is My Birthday… But You Get The Presents…
How come?
Well, this weekend is really the last chance to take part in some New England traditional Christmas events. I like to think of them as gifts from New England for locals and visitors alike.
Here’s a run down of last chance Christmas holiday favorites…
Santa Claus Express:
Ride the Santa Claus Express through the Mount Washington Valley aboard heated trains on the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, New Hampshire. Santa will be on board and will also have a special treat for children.
Saturday and Sunday December 17-18, 2005 at 11:30am (to Bartlett), 1:30pm (to Conway). Reservations not required. Call 1-800-232-5251 or visit their web site at: www.conwayscenic.com
Candlelight Carol Concert:
Boston’s Trinity Church in the Back Bay will have its popular Candlelight Carol sessions December 17 and 18. The candlelight session on December 17 is at 4:00pm and on December 18 two performances at 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
Tickets are required for the December 18 4:00pm session.
Christmas Time at Santa’s Village:
Santa’s Village is located in Jefferson, New Hampshire – a spot deep in the White Mountains. The Village closes in early fall, but opens briefly for the holidays. This weekend is your last chance to ride the amusements, and visit with Santa in his workshop.
Park is open 11:00am to 7:00pm on December 17, and 11:00am to 6:00pm on December 18. More details visit web site at: www.santasvillage.com
Christmas Sleigh Ride:
Experience the nostalgia of yesteryear with your family and friends and take a sleigh ride journey on December 17 and 18 in Wilmington, Vermont. Time: 6:45, 7:30, 8:15, and 9 p.m. Location: Adams Farm, 15 Higley Hill Road. Phone: 802-464-3762.
Wilmington is on Route 9W in Southern Vermont off the Brattleboro exit of Route 91.
