Don’t Miss Super Athletes in Boston for One Day Only!

Track Runners Boston MassachusettsWhat event features somebody who can leap over a two-storey building? If you said Superman… you were close. The event is the Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Saturday January 27th, 2007, and it’ll feature many super athletes.

While they’ll be many stars in this prestigious track and field meet, one notable will be Steve Hooker, the Australian Pole Vault record holder, who is currently the World’s #1 and has a personal best over 19’ 3” – higher than most two-storey buildings in Boston. Also competing will be Alan Webb, who set the running world alight in 2001 when he eclipsed the legendary Jim Ryun’s 36-year old Prep High School Mile record from the books. His time was 4 minutes and 6.94 seconds. In 2006 Alan ran the fastest debut 10,000 meters for an American in 27 minutes 34.72 seconds.

These, and many other stars such as Ethiopian wonder woman Meseret Defar, and local Marblehead favorite Shalane Flanagan are also scheduled to appear during the three hours of jam-packed excitement and thrilling competition. Believe me, these athletes don’t know the meaning of “taking it easy” – everything is a race to be won.

Boston doesn’t see too many world-class track and field events these days, and this is a meet that the whole family can go and see and very affordable – try and take your family of five to see a Red Sox game or Patriots game for less than a down payment on a house!

Since the games began in 1996, a total of 90 Olympic and World Championship medalists have competed in the event, and setting four World Records and eight American Records. At last year’s mile run 11 athletes broke 4 minutes, the most ever recorded for an indoor mile anywhere in the world!

Tickets for this event have sold out the last few years and so don’t wait to secure yours.

The meet takes place on Saturday January 27th starting at 5:30pm in the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont Street in Boston.

For more information visit the official web site at www.BostonIndoorGames.com or call 1-877-TIX-TRAC. Tickets are priced at $60, $40 and $20.
