About the Children’s Museum in Easton, Massachusetts
The Children’s Museum in Easton, Massachusetts makes an ideal destination for parents looking for a fun and hands-on learning experience with their young kids.
The museum focuses on touch, feel, and play exhibits and activities for the 1-8 age range, which makes it unique from other children museums in the Boston area. The museum is housed in a 3-story 100-year-old fire house and gets about 50,000 visitors a year.
I think an old fire house makes an excellent foundation for a children’s museum - after all what kids are not fascinated by anything surrounding fire trucks and houses.
The people at this Easton Museum have crammed a lot into the 3 floors of exhibits and interactive activities, which spills out into the surrounding gardens with the engaging Wild Place.
Here’s a few highlights you’ll see when you visit…
Activities inside include the Wood Shop - where you can hammer, glue and screw together your own work of art - the Ol’ Fishing Boat - a boat exhibit to set sail on your own discoveries - Old Colony Train - a place for kids to be their own train conductor - Kidsclinic - a Doctor’s office children actually enjoy visiting - and the Post Office - where kids can send mail.
The Performance Center provides kids the chance to make some noise - I mean music - and paint their faces rather than your walls at home. The more adventurous and extroverts - aren’t most at that age? - can act out their imaginations and create masks and put on a show.
The Wild Place is an outdoor learning center and offers a Dinosaur Garden and fossil pit, a Bird and Butterfly Garden, a Tree House, and a Gazebo to explore, and a nature scavenger hunt and treasure map for kids excited at solving puzzles.
The grounds include a picnic area for those warmer days when you prefer your kids to be outside anyway.
The folks at the museum are particularly proud of their special events, workshops and programs put on each year, and which is up to over 100. And the museum has recently been honored by being selected as Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Pick for Best Kids Museum in Boston and Providence area.
The museum is also available for kid’s birthday parties or private after-hours special events.
There’s a lot more to see and do at this special kids and parent’s destination and you can discover details about the Children’s Museum in Easton by checking out their web site here at www.childrensmuseumineaston.org

What a great resource you have for different places to visit, this must have taken you a long time to put together. Having kids of my own I like getting them out and about doing stuff, and I feel like I’ve found a fresh new resource to use for ideas and suggestions.
Thanks so much to you and your writers,
Suzy

I did visit that museum the last time I went to Massachusetts. Although there were a lot of things to do, my child was the most fascinated with the fire trucks. And me, although I am quite an old man now, was really impressed with the Wood Shop. Kids of today has a lot more fun things to do.
