This is a blog that covers news, events, destinations and attractions in New England. You’ll find articles about what is going on in the region today and upcoming activities so you can plan weekend visits or trips. You’ll find a broad selection of activities and news covered by this blog as we cover the whole region.
My name is Cliff Calderwood and I’ve lived in New England since 1981 – 27 years and still counting and this blog has been active for the last 2 years and we’ve accumulated over 190 posts on New England destinations and events.
We encourage guest bloggers to post stuff here as well. So drop me an email if you’re interested in writing something for the blog. You’ll notice other writers making appearances from time to time with their own distinctive New England style and passion. I think that’s good and gives you different perspectives.
I also have a passion for travel and discovering destinations and attractions and sharing my experiences with others.
I’m a travel writer that prefers to pay my own way and tell it like I see it rather than take free vacations from sponsors and feel obligated to promote a resort or destination.
I’ve had over 30 articles published about the New England region and syndicated to thousands of travel sites throughout the world.
I have a comprehensive six state New England vacations site at www.New-England-Vacations-Guide.com that focuses on helping people plan New England vacations with information on destinations, attractions, lodging, travel, activities, and maps and guides. Everything at the site – including the maps – is original and freely available to visitors.
The web site also offers free downloadable reports and a monthly ezine which you can subscribe to here. The most popular report is my New England scenic drives ebook where I detail over 30 of the most popular scenic drive tours in New England – the list just keeps getting bigger every year, and so does the book. I publish a separate version for the New England fall foliage season so you get the best leaf peeping locations to view.
So why this blog?
Well, as much as I enjoy writing for my web site it does focus on vacation and tour planning and it can’t provide news and last minute event information or specials available for a brief time. I also wanted a place to share controversial subjects about the New England region, and allow people to post comments with their thoughts and views.
While I’ve traveled extensively in New England I’m always amazed each year with the new places I discover and the people I meet. New England is so rich in history, varied scenery, hidden corners, backroads, and of course… its people. And this blog is aimed at bringing the region alive for you.
Feel free to comment on any post and share your opinions and let me know of any suggestions you have to make the experience better for you. You can contact me by clicking here.
Enjoy the blog.
